PEPLUX

Pharmacy

Who compounds and dispenses your medication.

PEPLUX is a telehealth platform, not a pharmacy or drug manufacturer. Medications are compounded and dispensed by independently licensed US compounding pharmacies.

No dispensing pharmacy is named yet. A product’s intake does not open until its pharmacy is named on its product page and on this page, with its state, whether it is a 503A pharmacy or a 503B outsourcing facility, and its license.

Facility types

Two kinds of compounder.

Which kind fills a prescription is not a detail. FDA keeps separate category documents and bulks lists for each, and a substance can be in one and not the other.

503A pharmacy

A 503A pharmacy is licensed by a state board of pharmacy and compounds medication against a prescription for an individual patient.

503B outsourcing facility

A 503B outsourcing facility registers with FDA, is subject to FDA inspection and to current good manufacturing practice requirements, and may compound without a prescription for each patient. Registration with FDA is not FDA approval of the facility or of what it makes.

A compounded product is not FDA-approved, whichever kind of facility makes it. Each product’s status, including the facility type its status allows, is on its status record.
