PEPLUX

Editorial policy

How PEPLUX writes and checks what it publishes.

PEPLUX sells some of the products it writes about. That is a commercial interest, and this policy exists so that it does not shape the facts: a product PEPLUX offers shows its FDA status on its own page, including when it is not FDA-approved and has no lawful compounding pathway.

The 24 status records were last checked between October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026.

Sources

Where regulatory facts come from.

Whether a substance is approved, and whether and how a pharmacy may compound it, is taken only from the documents below. Sport status comes from the WADA Prohibited List itself.

FDA
The 503A and 503B category documents for bulk drug substances, FDA’s compounding pages and guidance, FDA safety pages, warning letters, and Drugs@FDA.
Federal Register
Notices and rules that change a list. A proposed rule, or a notice proposing a change, changes nothing until FDA finalizes it.
eCFR
The 503A bulks list as codified in 21 CFR 216.23.
Approved drug labels
From FDA or DailyMed, for what an approved product is indicated for and what its approval does not cover.
Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee
Meeting materials and approved minutes. A committee recommendation is reported as a recommendation, never as a listing.

Never used as a source

Vendor and retailer sites, content farms, aggregator blogs and forum posts, however well they rank. They commonly conflate the 503A and 503B lists, treat removal from Category 2 as approval, and repeat each other’s errors until a wrong answer looks like a consensus.

Other websites’ summaries of FDA documents are not used in place of the documents. Each record cites the primary document directly. The one exception is an outcome FDA has not yet published, such as the result of an advisory committee meeting with no posted minutes: the record then names the secondary report it relies on and says that it is not an FDA document, until FDA publishes its own.

Status records

How status records are checked.

  • Every status statement on the site renders from one record per substance. No page restates a status in its own words, so correcting a record corrects every page that shows it.
  • Every source in a record carries the date printed on the document and the date we last checked it, and every record carries the date it was last verified.
  • A status changes only when FDA itself acts through the route that changes it: a final rule for the 503A bulks list, a notice that adds a substance to the 503B bulks list, or a new approval. A proposed rule or an advisory committee vote changes nothing on its own.
  • Each record shows the date it was last checked. The site build warns when a record is more than 60 days old, and a production build fails when a record is more than 90 days old, unless an emergency override is recorded with a reason.

Copy review

What every page is checked against.

Product, status and policy copy is checked against a written set of claims rules. Many of the rules are enforced automatically: copy that breaks one fails the site build.

A page names a clinical reviewer only when that person actually reviewed it.

  • No statement or suggestion that a compounded product has FDA approval, is proven, matches an approved drug, or is certain to work.
  • No outcome promises, timelines or dosing instructions.
  • Balanced risk information next to any statement about what a product is for.
  • Required disclosures are rendered from one fixed set of texts, never paraphrased.
  • No operational claim, such as a pharmacy, a price, a turnaround time or state availability, until it is true and recorded.
  • No invented reviews, testimonials, clinicians or patient stories.

AI assistance

How AI is used.

Content on this site is drafted with AI assistance and checked against the claims rules on this page, many of them automatically.

Regulatory facts are not generated. They are taken from the primary documents listed above, recorded with their dates, and checked by the rules described on this page.

Corrections

Corrections contact not yet published.

PEPLUX has not yet published a corrections contact. Before launch, this page will list where to send the page, the disputed claim and any primary source that contradicts it.

We check the claim against the primary source. If the record is wrong, we correct the record and its date, and every page that renders it changes with it. If we disagree, we say why.
