FDA’s documents list it as Selank acetate (TP-7).

Selank is not FDA-approved, and there is no pathway for a US pharmacy to compound it today. FDA removed it from its 503A Category 2 on September 27, 2024, because the nominator had meant to nominate a different substance. FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee has not reviewed it, and nothing is pending.

Basis
FDA's 503A categories document of September 27, 2024 removed selank from Category 2 because the nominator meant to nominate a different bulk drug substance. It has no entry in FDA's current 503A or 503B category documents, it is not on the 503A bulks list (21 CFR 216.23) or the 503B bulks list, and it is not a component of an FDA-approved drug. FDA's safety page says compounded selank acetate may pose a risk of immunogenicity and that FDA lacks important information on any safety issues it raises in people.

How it works

Selank mechanism.

Selank is a synthetic peptide of seven amino acids. It is built on tuftsin, a four-amino-acid fragment of an immunoglobulin, with a short proline-glycine-proline extension added to slow its breakdown in the body. Laboratory and animal research has looked at its effects on neurotransmitter signaling, on enzymes that break down enkephalins, and on the expression of immune signaling molecules.

That describes what the molecule does in the body. It is not a claim about what it will do for you.

What the evidence supports

Selank: evidence and limitations.

Most published research on selank is in animals and cell systems. Human studies are few and small, and none establishes its safety or effectiveness in people.

Risks

What your prescriber will consider.

These are decision factors a licensed provider weighs when deciding whether this product is appropriate for you. They are not instructions, and there is no dosing protocol on this page.

  • Current medicines, especially any that act on the nervous system

  • Any prior allergic or immune reaction to a peptide product, and any immune condition, given FDA’s note on immunogenicity

  • Whether the concern behind the request has had a standard medical evaluation, and any established treatment already in use

  • Which offered route suits the person, nasal or subcutaneous

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding or plans to conceive

PEPLUX does not publish self-administration protocols. Dose, frequency and duration are set by your prescriber against your own history and reviewed over time.
